He may just be thirsty ! Try some luke warm water from kettle for him to drink through the day, try that first before trying his milk. If that sorts it you no hes just thirsty

Never ever put anything in their milk - it increases the risk of them choking.
My wee one is 23 weeks and still feeds 3 hourly in the daytime and won't take more than 6oz.
Personally I would just go with the 2 hourly feeds in the day (I know it's a pest) as your getting a decent stretch at night.
Do you go to groups? Out in the pram? Would either of these help him stretch just a little if you wanted? Even 5-10 mins?
Nursery will have to work with his routine - he's a baby and it's their job to care for him as he is used to so please dont think they won't. If they won't follow his routine I would be seriously lookin for another nursery xx

Heya sounds normal, as long as baby is gaining weight and doing wet and dirty nappies then it's best to just feed on demand rather than getting caught up in the whole babies 'should' go 4 hours between feeds. My son fed 1-2 hourly day and night until 8 months (breastfed) they're designed to have little and often as their stomaches are
Small. Definitely ignore the cereal advice- this is a choking hazard and too young for anything other than milk. Water isn't advised under 6 months unless for medical reasons or it's very hot as can cause problems with their electrolyte levels which Can make them very ill. I would just continue following baby's lead and when they're ready they'll go for longer stretches x

Thanks for all your replies. He will go slightly longer than 2 hours if we're out and about but I'm wondering if because he's a serial cat napper (30-40 minutes at a time) this might be affecting how long he wants to go without a feed. from the research I've done it's fine to give a 4 month old water but normally no more than 2oz per day. Having said all this he did just go 3 hours without a feed, hurrah!

I know it's no consolation but just go with it! My little one is only 7 weeks but I find that they do something like feeding every two hours and then they shock you randomly one day and will all of a sudden just do 4 hours! My little one had 3 nights of sleeping through the night just all of a sudden and I actually missed our quality time at night lol. Then she went back to normal again and waking once a night again!
So enjoy bonding time! Because one day he will just stop when he wants to! Also I found walking with the pram kept them asleep if that would help prolong feeding?

Please try not to stress, it sounds like cluster feeding to me. I know it's frustrating (believe me, I've been there with the baby permenantly attached to my boobs every evening) but it doesn't last forever.
